"Part 2"
Strangely after the blog makes reference to the comments in the interview between McNabb and HBO, there is a quoted comment by Vince Young, a second-year quarterback, that says, "I really feel like myself, black or white quarterbacks, we all go through something because that is the life of a quarterback." Young said Wednesday, "You have to be able to handle all the pressure and you have to be able to handle the losses and you have to be able to handle the media saying this about you. If you can't handle it, then you have to get off that position and go play something else." When listening to parts of the interview and researching it a bit, McNabb made some very valid statements which differentiated him from other successful white quarterbacks. After breathing this all in Vince Young might have been just looking for a little media attention in a sort of pick a fight kind of way. This particular blog sparked many comments right away. For the most part people were siding with Vince Young and calling McNabb a whiner, interestingly though the pictures next to these screen names were white colored. The characterizing picture of the supposed black bloggers tended to agree with McNabb, but not with strong up front word usage as the whites used. Overall I was sort of shocked at how respectfully the comments trailed down the pages. Many did not sound like ignorant pop-off generalizations, yet instead the thoughts were well processed.
